Success! It took from 830-10pm to get RDH to sleep (he cried/protested the entire hour and a half) but then he went down and I did not go into his room until 630am! I heard him wake up a few times during the night and fussy - but the longest he fussed was 7 minutes! YAY! this was the first night of sleep I have truly gotten in a year! It was awesome! After I nursed him at 6:30am, he fell back asleep long enough for me to shower and get ready for work! Good job RDH - lets have a repeat of this!
on another note, since i am not nursing him all night long, I worry about his breast milk intake. he refuses breastmilk in a sippy cup or bottle during the day, but he drinks a ton of water out of a sippy during the day. I am only nursing him in the morning and at 6pm and 8pm. I hope that is enough! I am not ready to start real milk yet...hoping he will take breastmilk out of a sippy cup soon, or else I will be donating the 500+ ounces I have in the freezer.

Night #3 and #4
Night #3 was great! It took from 8pm-930pm to get RDH down. Then he slept until 4am!! I fed him at 4am and then he went down and slept until 830am...in fact when I left for work, he was still sleeping. That would have been my first full night of sleep, BUT August came down with a cough that night that kept waking him up.....so I was upstairs 3 times during the night for August. Its good RDH had a good night since August didnt.
Night #4....we regressed. I spent from 8pm-10pm getting RDH down. He woke up at 11pm again and I went in there every XX minutes (extended each time) to soothe him. At 230am, (three hours later) he was still screaming. I was so exhausted that I just let him cry :-( he finally went to sleep at 3am, only to wake up at 4am. I was still too tired to move, so he cried again and then finally was asleep at 420am and slept until 630am when I got up to feed him.
whew.....hopefully night 5 goes better. Really Night #4 is the first night he has put himself to sleep, simply because i was so exhausted and could not get up again. All the other nights I was soothing him to sleep in between the intervals of crying.
I hope this ends soon, I hate hearing him cry!
