August and Richard Dean playing

In this picture, I just gave Baby Brother a big kiss! I LOVE kissing my baby brother!!!
Playing on the lady bug mat. I have to be gentle with Baby brother...sometimes I get carried away and am rough because I am so excited to play!
RDH is getting stronger!!

Mommy told me the playmat is for laying on, so I had to lay down on it and copy RDH

Cleaning for Mommy

Three generations of Richard Dean Hellers......Daddy (Richard), baby brother (Richard Dean), and Grandpa (Dean).
I have been having so much fun playing with my baby brother! I love him so much! I constantly bring him toys and want to love all over him. Its a good thing that at Ms Ginas there is a baby too, so I have learned what I can and cant do around babies....although, I often still get carried away because I am just so excited to play. On my last day of 2010, Daddy took me to San Antonio for a Father and Son lunch at the 21st ranked burger joint Bigz Burgers.....daddy wanted to try it and I love burgers, so off we went. We will round out our trip by seeing Aunt Millie and the Carswell's beautiful new house...they have four kiddos, which means 4 playmates for me! Mommy and RDH stayed in Austin worked on tummy time and played outside. I hear tonight will be a big celebration.....so I cant wait to ring in the New Year with Daddy, Mommy, and RDH!

RDH 2 months old and stats

2 MONTHS OLD!!!!

RDH turned 2 months old on December 26th and today Daddy and Mommy took him to see Dr H for 3 shots :-( and a checkup.
RDH impressed Dr H with how well he held his head up and "scooted" around the exam table. RDH is focusing on objects, he can coo and smile :-)
He is a champion nurser and is gaining weight really well :-) He is quite the chunk. In fact he loves nursing so much that he wont take a bottle very well (he will hold out until I get home or only take like an ounce). We need to work on that or the grandmas and Michele will have a fussy little Richard Dean come March. Everyone in the house has a bit of a cold right now, including RDH, so please pray for a speedy recovery for us all.....sick kiddos are no fun.
Here are RDH's 2 month stats:
Head Circumference: 39 cms - 50th percentile
Weight: 11 pounds and 15.5 ounces (basically 12 pounds) - 50th percentile
Height: 22 inches - 10th percentile. ...Dr H thinks this measurement may have been off....I would agree with her, because RDH is already in 3 month outfits because of length, so I think he is taller.
One other thing about RDH (just because the purpose of this blog is to remember everything) is he has gone 5 days w/o a BM.....apparently this is completely normal for a breastfed baby (although August never had this problem) at this age because mature breastmilk hardly has any waste in it....interesting. Poor RDH did have a bit of "stimulation" from Dr H to get anything that may be in there moving.....he really hated this - of course!

Poor RDH - he has been so tired since his shots and I think he is running a small fever now....he keeps moaning randomly in his bassinet...I think he is traumatized.

Things to remember....by Mommy

Exercising
August's new toy from our neighbors.....the highlight of his night tonight!
Time passes so fast and I dont ever want to forget some of these precious moments from my children....so I am making a list...
- I don't ever want to forget:
1. How excited August gets when he receives a new toy. His voice, which is normally a high pitched little toddler voice, gets even higher as he gets excited. Tonight our sweet neighbors stopped by and brought the boys gifts....and we just couldn't wait until Christmas Day to open them....as soon as August got his gift - he was trilled! Just kept shouting "What's that?" and " OHHHHH" in his tiny little voice....it was adorable! Then he kept pointing to RDH's gift and saying "baby."
2. How excited August is in the morning to go play with Hayden! He has really really bonded with this little boy Hayden that goes to Ginas. Hayden and August are 3 days apart in age and they love each other. It is so cute how, even at 21 months, children form tight bonds. He asks daily for Hayden ("DEE DEE") and in the mornings runs to the car when we ask him if he wants to go play with Hayden. Hayden's Mommy and I actually used to work together at EY...small world! Gina says all day long they are in-separable....August even gathers up toys for Hayden to play with!
3. August's willingness and determination to help with any task. He tries to help us with everything and is very focused when doing a task. It is so fun to watch his determination.
4. August's helpfulness when it comes to the baby. August is constantly bringing me nursing pillows, blankets, and turning on music for the baby. He even dances and sings for the baby. The best is when he brings me the TV remote :-)
5. RDH's strong will. I can tell this baby is going to be very strong willed. August was a much more laid back baby than RDH. They will be very different - personality wise.
6. RDH has started "talking" and smiling. He is such an active baby....now maybe he will start sleeping soon! I have no idea how this kid has so much energy!
7. I have learned I can feed 3 people all at once. I can nurse RDH, eat myself and have August sitting right by me waiting for me to give him food as well. This is how most of my dinners are....even if August has eaten.....he will always want some off my plate - he has a very big appetite these days......as Gina puts it: "That boy eats like a man!" :-)
8. Since #7 is mainly how I eat...poor RDH usually ends up with crumbs all over him....RDH - Mommy is sorry for the oreo pieces that landed all over you today....
Its almost Christmas....August's second and RDH's first. It is a crazy house with 2 boys under the age of two....but we would not have it any other way. We feel very blessed.
9. RDH is 8 wks old and weighs 11 pounds 2 ounces according to our home scale. Everyday he enjoys tummy time and walks outside.
10. August has LOVED the Christmas decorations this year. Every weekend we go on runs (during the week everyday Daddy takes him for walks to see the lights when it is dark) August loves to point out all the "Ho Hos -Santa" and "Choo Choos - Sleighs" and "Basketballs - those big ornaments you can hang on outdoor trees.

"Christmas is all around us" - Love Actually

The stockings were hung....I love throwing "HoHo" and "Duck" around everyday. I now think that snowmen are ducks because the first snowman I ever saw was a bath duckie dressed as a snowman from my aunt Linda.....so now all snowmen are "ducks."
What a cute little elf I am!!
Playing with my abuela...she came up on Friday to watch me and my brother so mommy and daddy could go to Christmas parties!!
Mommy and her friends from high school :-) Mommy's friend Aimee just had a little boy 1 week and 1 day before Mommy. They had the same OBGYN, so they got to see each other at all their appointments!!
RDH "exercising"
MITTENS!
RDH...Mommy's little chunky monkey! She just loves those rolls and fatty cheeks!
YUM YUM - TURKEY LEG!

Covering Mommy in stickers while RDH does his tummy time!

This weekend was full of Christmas parties, including my Christmas party at Ms Ginas!

Holiday Party!

Saying bye bye to Mommy as her and Daddy head to Mommy's Company Christmas party!
RDH headed to Dr M's for Mommy's 6 wk check up
RDH having tummy time!

Covering my baby brother in stickers!

Its been a busy week! Mommy went to her Dr for her 6 wk appointment and everything is great! Clean bill of health! Everyone in the office loved seeing Richard Dean and he was the PERFECT baby that day! On Friday, Mommy and Daddy headed to the Four Seasons for Mommy's Company Christmas party.....while baby brother and I stayed with Grandma (thanks to Grandma to watching 2 little ones!!) While walking into the party.....Mommy took a bad fall and hurt her ankle...but was determined to go to the party - so with Daddy's help, she hobbled in anyway. The party was awesome....even with a hurt ankle. Hopefully it starts feeling better soon, because Mommy looks to be in a lot of pain hobbling around the house.
