The boys had a great weekend! We went down to SA to visit the Grubbs and their precious little girls. Everyone had a blast playing and the Grubbs sent us back with some really cool toys and extra potty seats :-) YAY!

Happy Father's Day

Thank you for: loving us with all your heart, wrestling with us, letting us climb all over you and ride your legs like a horsey (affectionately termed by August as "neigh" and "yee haw!"), for putting us to sleep and rocking us when we are upset, for always making sure we are happy, well-adjusted and safe, for always making my (August's) smoothie in the morning when mom started getting lazy (aka tired) and was starting to just use milk. Thanks for making bathtime a blast and for teaching us our letters of the alphabet. Thank you for always giving us 110% of yourself. You are the best dad we could ever ask for and we love you so much! You are our inspiration and our role model.

Saturday August demonstrated again that he has NO fear of the water again by constantly wanting to jump off the side of the pool. He would NOT stay in the kiddie area of the pool and play with his friends who drove all the way to our neighborhood to play!....he just wanted to jump off the side and have me catch him. He was hilarious.....he would stand on the side and yell "5,6, JUMP" and jump. He didnt even care if I was there, he would jump anyway!

Sunday we all went to Nancy's for a fabulous brunch :-) the food was wonderful and August and RDH got to be so spoiled by all my friends there!

We had a wonderful weekend hanging out with Grayson, Andi, Justin, and Grandma. Thanks for dinner on Saturday Andi and Justin. August just loved hanging out with his best bud Grayson. Grayson goes to Gina now and August could not be happier to have a new friend! Grayson's house is on our running route and August always points out where Grayson's house is and he also loves to point out Grayson's Daddy's truck. Sunday we hung out at home and Richard cooked yummy salmon, steak, and jalapeños wrapped in bacon :-) and Grandma came to visit. August got to spend time running through the sprinkler and hanging with Grandma. :-)

Sippy Cup!

Last night, I decided to start working with RDH on the sippy cup. He took right to it and drank water out of it! I was so excited!!! With August, I didnt start the sippy cup until later, and it was Gina who finally got him to take it. Go RDH!

Feelings and Teeth

yes - two totally different subjects, but significant ones for the boys.
August has learned feelings. When he sees the baby crying he says "Baby sad." the most awesome part of learning feelings is at least twice a day out of the blue, he will look up, smile and say "Aboba (August) HAPPY!" I love hearing that!
RDH has his 2 bottom teeth! They are precious and sharp!

The official start to summer was celebrated by the Hellers with lots of activities and fun!

Saturday we both took August for a run (RDH is still too young for running in the BOB) and then headed to San Antonio to see RDH's Godparents. They just got a new house (or should I say castle....at one point I got lost inside the house!) so we went down for a tour and to swim in their pool. August had absolutely NO fear of the water and jumped right in without floaties or anything....luckily Richard was already in the water to catch him! We have taken August swimming every year since he was 6 months old, but never has he shown such enjoyment, or should I say bravery around the water. Nothing scares this kid, he is a true thrill seeker....yikes! RDH also had his first swim and LOVED it.....his little legs were kicking like crazy in the water! After a great visit, we headed back up to Austin. I am always in awe of RDH's Godparents.....they have 4 kids, his Godmother is a Doctor and his Godfather is a CPA.....I seriously dont know how they do it!

Sunday Richard woke up at 6am to start a fire and season the 10 pound brisket he bought. He smoked brisket and sausage and we had over Grandma, Aunt Linda, Alex, Rich, Dave, Emily, and baby Sloan. Baby Sloan is so precious and August had the BEST time playing with her. August is so great around babies and he truly loves them...RDH has taught him well :-) he always lets babies play with his hats and lets them pull it off his head.....for some reason, every baby enjoys this and August loves to make babies smile! Thanks Grandma for bringing all the yummy sides and thanks Rich and Alex for the beer and Dave and Emily for the wine!

Monday we packed the boys up after our runs and took them to grandmas so that we could go and see a movie. Unfortunately all of Austin had the same idea and all of the movies at the Alamo Drafthouse were sold out. So Richard and I went to Z Tejas and enjoyed a nice dinner without kids. It was so nice to have an evening out.....what would we do without you grandma?!

RDH is 7 months old now! WOW! RDH is such a wonderful baby! Here are some of his highlights at 7 months:

1. Still nursing. RDH loves nursing....I think he is going to be very hard to wean at a year. Eating one meal of solids a day.

2. Has eaten: Bananas, Pears, Apples, Mangos, Peas, Green Beans, Squash, and Brown Rice Cereal.

3. Loves to inch along the floor and jump in his jumperoo.

4. Enjoys August so much!
